Even today, negative thinking towards girls remains in our country. A tragic incident has come to light in Latehar district of Jharkhand, where after the murder of 26 -year -old Reshma Kumari, her body was buried in sand along the river. The matter was revealed when eight days of murder had passed. Reshma's father has filed a murder case against her husband, mother-in-law, Jeth-Jethani and Nand, which shows the seriousness of this mentality.

It is mentioned in the FIR that the in -laws were angry with the birth of two girls. It also alleges that Reshma's husband has an illicit relationship with another woman. After the incident came to light, the accused has escaped, and the police is questioning other members of the family.

On 16 May, the police of Garu police station area recovered the body of a woman buried in a sand on the banks of the Koyal river near Luhurratand village. She was later identified as Reshma Kumari, who was missing since May 12.

Husband and in -laws used to torture their daughter
Reshma's father Saryu Prasad has mentioned in the FIR that he married his daughter in 2016 to Mukesh Kumar, a resident of Sukri, Latehar, who is a computer operator in Garu Block Office. Since marriage, Reshma was tortured by her husband and in -laws, especially after the birth of two daughters. In 2017, his brother -in -law also assaulted him, against which he lodged a complaint with the police station. Apart from this, dowry was also being demanded from Reshma.

Her husband had a relationship with another woman, which made her very upset. Due to this situation, he decided to go to Daltonganj with both his daughters. On May 12, Reshma's husband Mukesh came to Daltonganj to take daughters, and Reshma also went missing from the same day. His mobile was also coming off.

Questions raised again on women safety
This heartbreaking incident has raised serious questions on the issue of safety of women in Jharkhand. Reshma's story highlights a social reality in which a woman lost her life due to the birth, dowry and illicit relationship of daughters. The police is investigating the case seriously and soon the arrest of the accused is being expected.
